226 H series valve chamber oil baffles

Hello guys, I've been reading and getting lots of information from you all for a while now. Hopefully I can return the favor with some of my experiences. I'm currently assembling my 50 F1 226H series engine. The cam/valves/crank/pistons are installed and I was getting to the valve adjustments next. After reading the manual I seem to be missing the valve chamber oil baffles - Part no 6524. The one thing I'm sure of is that I never removed them as I took the block to the shop and they did it all. They are very reputable and they gave me all the loose parts after cleaning and machine work. Honestly I've had no issues finding anything as long as it was in the box. I can't find these baffles and I talked to them and they don't recall them being in there. So I guess it was possible they were never there? Removed from a previous build? The bores were already .030 over so it's possible. I would like to put them in there but I can't find anyone that sells them so If I'm going to put them in I'll need to pick up a set from a donor 226. Does anyone out there have any of these they'd be willing to sell me? From my parts manual there should be 3 of them, one for each chamber. Thanks

Interesting. The '50 - '53 254 engine also has them. They appear to be held in place just by spring tension. I haven't had my covers off so I don't know if I have them.

I think the later ones have a bolt to hold them. perhaps the reason for the original .030 build was due to one of the springs breaking and causing damage so they threw them out. Not sure if I even need them but they must've been there for a reason.

Parts

Thanks for the information.
With that I was able to purchase 1 of the 8MTH-6524-A that I need from Green Sales for $10. The place in TX that has the other one needs to see if they actually have it and they want $50 if they can find it. Carpenter no longer has the 1HA 6524 in stock so I need to keep looking. 1 out of 3 so far. Thanks for the help.

From what I see in the catalog, those are to control the amount of oil around the valve stems. Likely to keep oil thrown off the cam on the lifters?
