Fairly new here but have a question for you guys.
I recently bought an 89 F250 that is supposed to have a newer 460 in it but I don't know where to look on the motor for any numbers. The manual says that they are on the valve cover but I cannot see any numbers.
Any suggestions of where else to look.

Thanks

I know on older blocks, I was able to find the #s on the bottom of the block. Hope this helps.

Thanks Bruzz, do you know where on the bottom of the block. I know where to look on a GM block but not a ford.

The block won't tell you anything. They are all the same casting after 1979.
Look on the heads right above the two center exhaust ports (2&3 or 6&7) If it says F3TE then it is the last heads made, if it says E7TE then they are original or at least the same heads that came with the truck new.
