New TT for the 15 lariat
#16
We have a CrossRoads ST290BH and dry weight is 6800 lbs as listed and a GVWR of 7700 lbs, tongue weight is around 800 lbs. I have an equalizer with 10k bars on it and my 2011 tows it fine and my truck has a max tow rating of 9700 lbs.
Where we are running into problems is my payload is 1161 lbs and subtract the tongue weight and you have 361 lbs. I weigh in at 200 lbs so with the wife and daughter we are slightly over. Close enough we haven't had any issues but that trailer pulls my truck around. I have added 10 ply tires and that helped, then added road master active suspension and it really helped. It tows it better then my friends 15 with max tow, that all said we are looking at the 2017 F250 and we shouldn't have to worry about this ever again!

Not sure on a 15 but our 13 had a screen for the trans temp and I would have it on the screen when towing our 8000#+ car trailer. I also had an Edge Monitor so I could monitor load, distributor advance, cylinder head temp and intake pressure and inlet temperature. All info is right off the OB ll connection.
Mine was a Max Tow with 373's and as I climbed keep backing off and down shifting to keep some dist advance (at least 10*) or every thing would get pretty hot. It never failed and maybe I was just over cautious. Trailers have a lot of wind resistance and we as drivers need to realize we back off our speeds and not overdrive our trucks when pulling a load... Good Luck.

Just traded my 2011 F150 cc with 5.0 L. This pulled my Rockwood Ultralite 2304DS no sweat and my Forest River Cruise Lite before that. Current TT dry weight is 5100 the .forest river was closer to 5700 dry. Figure about 6700 wet it pulled just fine. I expect my new 2018 CC 4x4 with 3.5 and 3.55 LS should pull this baby even better. They are beasts.
