I have a 1996 f250 powerstroke 5 speed 4x4. It starts right up everytime and runs fine at low rpm's but if I hold the throttle at 2200 for around 30 seconds the rpm start dropping and the foot pedal has no response for about 30 seconds and then goes back to running fine at the lower rpms. I have dual tanks and this occurs regardless of which tank I'm running on. Brand new turbo at the end of summer. Lift pump and cps didn't fix my problem. No oil in icp. No fuel leak that I can find. Unplugging the map sensor didn't change anything. I'm new to working on a diesel truck so anything helps. Thank you guys.

 

Having a good scanner will be your best allied. You got to have a way to monitor icp and ipr vitals.

 

I do have access to one but there's never been a check engine light and it's obd1

 

You need one capatible with the 7.3 such as an Auto Enginuity, theres others but Ive used the one mentioned.

 

This one had the capability but what do I look for/monitor?
