Question 1976 Ford F150

Hi,
I have a 1976 Ford F150 with a 300 Six, what is the right size Brake Shoes for the Rear Drum ? There seems to be some confusion. The Drums are 2" deep but can't seem to find any 2" wide Shoes.
Thanks

Common part. Bought a set at O'Reilly's for a gift to someone. They had them on the shelf, no need to order.

Ask to speak to someone who knows what these things we call automobiles are, then tell them what rear you have & they should pull it off the shelf. More than likely you have the 9" rear you didn't tell us in your first post.

It's PachucoZone in Santa Barbara County. Right ese?

Say, I recall Dana 44s were also used for rear axles in these trucks. Possible in the OP's case??

Some of these parts workers don't have a clue on things if it's over 10 years old. The other day when getting a drag link (the 40" part from right side to the center) the Autozone guy tried to sell me the wrong one, said he was right and--- well it turned out he punched in 4 wheel drive on his computer when mine's a 2. Always measure before leaving home or match up the old part if you're not familiar with it.

I try to avoid the big chains like AZ, O'Reillys, Advanced. My local NAPA used to be a locally owned Mom n Pop place. Included a full engine machine shop. Alot of the former employees still work there and can go back to the shelf and get the correct part without looking at their corrupter. On a $40 part it may cost $1.50 more but I get the satisfaction of knowing that alot of the things they sell are still American Made. We also have a place here thats been open for as long as I can remember that rebuilds starters, alternators and generators. That is where I take my stuff when repairs are needed. All the $$ stays local and they are GOOD at what they do.

There are very few "real parts people" left..........Pisses me off when you are buying headlights or wiper blades when they ask you if its a 4x4 or if its an automatic or standard trans or does it have A/C............If they had even the slightest clue, they wouldn't need to waste their breath, or mine; even though I know that the computer is requesting that info. There is only one good mom and pop parts house left in my town. I just hope they can hold on until I no longer am able to work on my own stuff.......

The rear cover will be bolted on, not a integral part of the housing like a 9". IIRC the Danas were only used in the F100 2wd trucks, but don't quote me on that one. However someone at some point may have swapped yours. Happens all the time on this older stuff........
