Restore/ Refurb 2005 Navigator 240,xxx miles. Where to start, trouble areas?
Hello all,
I recently became the owner of an 05 Navigator Luxury 5.4 v8 with 240,xxx miles. This is my first ford truck and I love it! I know you're thinking "thats a lot of miles" but I was blessed to have family that sold it to me for $1 for my birthday so I cant complain.
I am trying to find common areas to repair/replace before they go bad on me and if not I would like to know of any areas I should monitor. Seeing as our trucks are cousins I figured this would be a great place to ask.
I already have replaced everything on the front of the motor (timing chains, guides, seals, oil/water pump, a/c compressor) all my coils/plugs, alternator, battery and the passenger side wheel hub.
Are there any other things I should look into to get/keep my truck running like a top?
My goal is to keep this truck for a very long time and use it for trips, driving through snow and hauling heavy stuff. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

the fuel pressure is controlled by an electric module bolted to the frame behind the left rear wheel..(fuel pressure mondule) .. small wire harness going to it... If that has not been replaced, it would be a good idea to remove and inspect. Salt collects on the back side and rots out the electronics from there.
