My 1970 f250 camper special

This is the engine before I started doing a little upgrading.

I bought this truck about 17 years ago. At the time, I rebuilt the 390 that was in it then there it sat for all these years. In the last 6 months I have started doing some work on it to get it on the road.

After the truck sat for all those years it had stuck lifters and bent push rods. I used avgas with a wood block and hammer to free the lifters and kept hammering straight the push rods til it was running. Then I decided to go to a 4bbl carb. I had an old Weiand aluminum intake laying around for about as long as the truck. I put that on and got a Holley 4160 carb. Then I figured what the hell, so I put on the hei ignition too.

One thing you should really do is reconnect the pcv system back up.
It pulls the moisture out of the top end. Some milky looking stuff will start to form in the oil cap an the valve train...

If Im remembering correctly about the pcv valve. I think the weiand intake only had a spot on it for a Y fitting which I connected a 1/4" to the carburetor and line to the brake booster. So, I have a new breather cap coming with some other parts. Looking for a cap to plug off the other side.

The original owner had a 10' camper in it since 71. Eventually I will put it back in but for now I just let it hang out. The tailgate was stored the whole time. On my list also is tailgate hinges.

I finally registered the truck. It still needs tires to really drive it much. It has a couple new minor problems though. Looks like the power steering pump needs a little rebuild help, minor problem. Also, when i filled it with gas Saturday morning, it started leaking from the sending unit. I was on my way to my dads house, so when i got there I siphoned out 12 gallons and pulled the unit. I found the fish lipped o-ring. I couldnt find a new one without ordering it so I put it in for now so I could go home. If I dont find one monday, I will order one. Always something.

If it still has 16.5" tires any later, up to '85 or so, 16" wheels will fit and tires will be much easier to get. It looks good.

Don't . This is where the PCV valve goes, and the vacuum line goes to the manifold. There might be a spot underneath the air filter to run a hose to the filler/breather cap. Unless you go to an open loop system.
