I'd like to put a 2015 dually box on my 2001 f350 reg cab long box dually. Has anyone on here done this swap or know if it will fit and line up?

 

If both are long boxes they should interchange with some minor wiring changes, however the box in the picture does not look like a 2015 box, wrong dually fenders and small fuel door (no room for DEF fill) although on a 2001 that would not be an issue.

 

the top pic is a 2001 box and the bottom is a 2015 with the rounded fenders.

I found this pic of what looks like an early 2000's f350 with a 2015 style box. Looks like the body lines match right up.

 

That to me and could be the photo just making it that way but looks like a short box. Again, could be just my eyes and the way the photo looks.

The box also came off a gas model since it says flex fuel so I don't think the DEF is going to be a issue. I also don't think his truck will need DEF since he is running a 2001.

 

Ok so i just spoke to an outfit that sells new take off boxes and they told me all boxes from 1999 to 2015 f350's are the same as they swap them all the time. just need to mod the tail light wiring.

Looks great! did you have to do any mods, wiring, filler neck etc? Any advice on the swap would be appreciated.

 

I didn't do the swap myself. The place I got it from did. No mods needed shy of rewiring the lights and filler neck position. Nothing else needed to change. Don't remove the DEF cover unless you like looking at a hole where your DEF would go.

The 2015 box bolted right on. the only mods were changing the wiring connector and drilling 3 new holes for the screws that hold the gas filler.
