So Ive noticed that when Im slowly rolling in reverse and I turn the wheel if feels like the brakes are dragging and I have to apply throttle to keep backing up. Anyone else experience this or know what might be the issue? Truck is a 97 350 CC 7.3 4x4
Check the rear brakes for broken springs causing the shoes to activate in reverse. Most drum brake systems adjust the brakes automatically in reverse when the pedal is depressed. Also less likely because it's only in reverse you should check the front calipers for not releasing. I'd say in general your looking at a brake job.

Rear brakes was my first thought but it seems to only happen when I turn the front wheels.
Might not be the brakes, are your hubs locked? If so check both outer U joints make sure they are not freezing up on ya.
This was my first thought. I verified they are in the unlocked position and the T case is in 2-HI. I guess I could have someone slowly roll it in reverse while I watch the front U jounts.

Yea or lift each tire off the ground one at a time with the steering at near full lock, try to rotate the tire see how it feels hub locked and un locked.
If its stiff enough to stop/create enough drag on the truck to the point you have to give it gas to keep moving? you'll definitely feel it by hand!

If it only happens when you turn the front wheels you may have a collapsing front brake line. On the flexible lines leading to the calliper the inside lining can degrade causing the brakes to drag. You may not notice it when moving forwards and turning the wheels as one is usually accelerating. As mentioned previously, lifting each wheel and turning by hand may give you an idea which one needs work. If the lines are degrading then change all of the flexible lines at the same time.
