Ok, here for assistance. Truck continues to stall when coming to a stop and I have almost been rear ended half a dozen times this winter and it's driving me nuts! New IAC, new MAF, no vacuum leaks. The truck never does the stalling thing in open loop, only in closed loop.

No codes, truck drives like a dream until I come to a stop and enters the idle circuit... It's like either the idle circuit is not tuned right/non engaging or there is a cam sensor/crank sensor/speed sensor causing it to stall?

I found this in my garage a while back and I just can't seem to find where it would go if it came off my truck.

It says made in Mexico, Timken Siemens brand sensor. It looks much like a wheel sensor to me... It has a 2 prong connection on the female end and a green oring on the male/sensor end.

I checked and both front wheels have speed sensors installed. I checked and there is a cam and crank sensor in the truck after the rebuild... Looking online it looks like the output shaft sensor on the transmission is larger and designed a little different.

I swear its an ABS wheel speed sensor harness... I just cant find where it would go.

That's an ABS sensor.

Thanks for verifying... That's what I thought.. Is the ABS sensor separate from the front regular wheel speed sensors? If so, what wheel should it go on? Im guessing drivers side front? Also, would the speed sensor cause my stalling issue?

Interesting I just purchased the OSS Output Speed Sensor you talk about for my wife's V10 Excursion. Her's was getting the flashing OD light and I searched for other culprits this one seemed to match up. Her truck wasn't stalling so not directly related to your issue but the only time she does seemed to get the flashing OD light is idle at stop light or low rpm. From what I read nothing internal is wrong with transmission so hopefully it fixes it.

Long story short I just mentioned my issue because I noticed you had said the OSS. Keep in mind it is similar to the one in your photo but it has a metal bracket attached to it. Requires a 8mm bolt from rear most part of the transmission to remove. Be careful when removing wiring harness to it my clips were brittle and broke them. I might have to replug it by cutting off old and putting new one but for now it holds with electric tape.

Replacing the sensor in a couple weeks as I'm out of town right now.

Ok, just ran out and double checked. Both front wheel speed sensors are plugged in. I wonder if when I rebuilt my front hubs if I saw the small burn mark on that harness and replaced it and just never threw the old sensor/harness out. At this point I can 100% say both front wheels have speed sensors and are plugged in correctly. I agree, it does look like a wheel speed sensor. I have no indicators on my dash that indicate ABS or Overdrive have anything wrong.

Doh, I remember I did buy a new wheel sensor... Sorry for the confusion on that harness/sensor. It's in the trash now.

On another note, the only thing I haven't replaced at this point is the TPS that I can think of would cause the stalling issue. I will buy a new one at ford tomorrow.

No worries I think I misread your post into what I thought was you were asking if it looked like the OSS from the transmission. I know I was not much help but you can do some research on it still because stalling I believe is still a culprit or possibly your COP if you have them? Was not sure if your running gas or diesel.

Interesting, came across this in google while searching stalling issues at idle or coming to a stop. Not 100% related to my particular year truck, but hopefully I am on the right track.

6.8 V-10 stalls and dies when slowing down

Ok, its been a while but figured I should give an update. Basically when I first received my truck I dropped it off at a friend of mine who owns a mechanic shop now for 20+ years. He did some small things like coolant, ball joints etc. He also said he came across a bad MAF sensor and replaced it. I am very picky and only trust people I know have done good work before. Well, I decided to double check the MAF and come to find out the boot on the bottom of the air filter where the MAF sensor is located had come loose. It was sucking un-metered air in and causing the truck to stall. Not sure if he had someone at his shop new and forgot to put the boot back on or what... Let's just say I wasn't happy!

Moral of the story, check someones work. Even if they are a friend or someone you trust.

On another note, the truck has been running great ever since I replaced the boot. If you having stalling issues, check that stupid boot!

Ouch. That's a bad hit to a shop reputation to miss something like that. Glad you found it!
