More GMC and Dodge in Canada versus Ford

I just got back from a expedition to Arctic and I noticed something very interesting during my drive up and down(from NorCal to Prudhoe Bay and back). In short, I did not see more than 20 Super Duties/F series in total(in 3 weeks). Most of the trucks north of Hope,BC are GMC Silverados, closely followed by Dodge.
What gives Ford? that is a huge market cap at loss.

diesels are preferred over gas in British Columbia and I think what your seeing is the results of the problems of the 6.0 and 6.4 scaring buyers away from the ford's.

in Alberta and Ontario it's more ford trucks then ram

That is odd.
I live in Kamloops BC and i regularly see far more fords than anything else.
In fact so many that my town has 2 large ford dealers for only roughly a population of 90k people.
Even in my neighborhood, if i think of my 10 nearest neighbors who own pickups, i am pretty sure 7 of them are fords.

in southern bc I saw way more ford's but up north especially heading up the alcan rams and the gm twins were way more prevalent than super duties. lots and lots of f150s tho

Next time i am at a large parking lot i will do a rough count.
Would be shocked if the fords alone did not at least equal the combined totals for chevy, dodge, gmc, and toyota.

I passed through Hope, BC -- Cache Creek, BC -- Prince George, BC. I was actually surprised at # of GMC all over. Even the pilot trucks on Dalton are now GMCs...

Interesting.
BC is definitely pickup country.
At least around me though fords trump the rest.

I visit Canada(Ontario and Quebec) every couple of months and I was surprised at the lack of trucks in general, not just one brand. I usually see the most trucks in Texas and Oklahoma.

Very true.
Most people don't need a truck, so drive a car.
Some drive a truck because I think they justike spending a lot more than they need to on fuel and tires.
In a regular parking lot if i am shopping i would guess maybe 1 in 8 vehicles is a pickup. Despite many brands go choose from i would guess that nearly half of those pickups are ford in my area.
