Battery drain from Bsm 2006 F150

I have a battery drain and after removing fuses found to be #107 (power door lock-bsm). Its drawing about 5 amps. When I connect the amp meter in between negative cable and battery, bsm makes a clicking sound. I remove fuse #107 and it stops and amps go .05. Is there a way to check if the bsm is faulty. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would charge the battery fully and have it tested, I have read several threads about the BSM (located behind the back seat/ on back wall of the cab) clicking and a few were solved by replacing the battery, most had no resolution and a few replaced the BSM (or VSM) which i believe has to be programmed by a dealer.

sorry i can't be of more help but i hope it is better then none.

Chances are, you're testing current draw incorrectly. Highly recommend that you consult the service manual for the specific directions, otherwise you will waste considerable time and resources due to doing it wrong.

I connected one lead of the amp meter to the negative battery cable and the other lead to the negative side of the battery. Meter has max 10amp. I pulled the fuses one by one and once i pulled #107 the amp draw went down to .05. please let me know if I am doing it right or wrong. thanks

there is a timer that puts the electrical system into "sleep mode" after a period of time. Running a test with the cables removed and reconnected for 2 minutes will give bad results.......... that's what SHO89 is saying........ you have to wait for things to "time out" after you jump in the amp meter.

The 40 minute timeout interval must be observed... or else the results are invalid.

Also, if the BSM is clicking when your meter is installed in circuit, the meter connection is not capable of providing a good enough current shunt. You're dropping too much voltage through the metering circuit and there's not enough power to still allow proper module operation.
