January 2016/New Year's BS Thread

I just wanted to stop in and say Happy New Year!

Things are improving and I'm going to be spending a little more time here, in the 48-56 forum, and working on my truck.

I hope the new year brings good things to everyone here on FTE!

Hey Ken!

The Ky Chapter has been pretty dead for a while. Haven't heard from you in a while. Things have been going pretty good for me lately. Trucks are all running at the moment!

Hello KY Chapter. New resident to the state of KY, long time Ford fan. Got 4 of them sitting in my garages.
Is there every any meets or truck type activities in the south central part of the state?

Hi Neil. Welcome to Ky! Unfortunately, the Ky Chapter has not been active in a while. We have had a few meets over the years, but it's been probably 2 years since we as a chapter met. There's guys on here that are active in forums about the trucks they own, and they have had meets around different parts of the country. But we unfortunately don't do that. Lack of interest. But, I'm sure if we had more interest, it could certainly happen. There are members in Murry, and Bowling Green. As close to Tennessee as you are, they may have meets down that way. Nashville ain't that far from you!

BTW, that's a hell of a truck in that picture!

Thanks for the welcome. Seems like all the chapters activities have slowed, or if they are active the meets are always several hundred miles away.

As for my F250...as you can see, it is a museum piece at this point. 16 years old and still under 30K miles. It killed me to put the 2300 miles on it driving it out here from the west coast. I looked into having it hauled, but that was pretty pricey. I parked it in the garage the day we arrive here in July, and it hasn't been outside since. I'll probably never get the bugs off of the front after having sat that long before washing it.

Good morning IB Tim.

I have been testing the "retirement waters" for almost a year now, (and not liking it much) so it is just another day off for me.

Me and Michelle are still kicking... She has 257,600 miles now.

I will agree, the KY chapter simply never had a continuing dedication to meets.

Currently have been helping out with a FB group called OBS Brotherhood, went from a member to an Administrator with them, helping organize meets, etc and to help regulate the Facebook page.

Since September we have had a meet in Somerset, KY with the Somernites Cruize, Judgement Day Diesel Dyno Day in Winchester, KY, a OBS Brotherhood meet in both Lexington, KY and at Big Bone Lick State Park, in Union, KY. (Had 16 trucks and roughly 25 people pop up!)

As of 1500 tomorrow, I'll be heading to Chesnee, SC to help with a OBS Brotherhood Meet. 5 hr drive/ 280 miles 1 way.

Will be spending the night, helping set up te event, then after lunch, we'll be doing a parts swap and a convoy.

Sorry I've been MIA lately, looks like Ken's kept things as straight as possible lol.

Hope everyone's been good!

Just a headsup, I'm from Salyersville, KY.

Literally where the MountainParkway ends, there's a redlight/ 3 way and a McDonald's on the left.

Also, not sure if you guys had heard, but FTE lost a brother.

Bob Gervais passed away 12-25-2015 from a Heart Attack.

He hung out on the 92-97 forum. Swell guy.

I remember seeing Bob's name. I did not know him. Glad to see you've been keeping busy. I think there was some talk on the 94.5-97psd forum about the meet at Big Bone Lick. I know some guys were planning on going, but never heard anymore about it. I was actually planning on attending it when it was first mentioned, then I forgot about it.

Where have you been working Wes? Last I heard you've been going some distances for work.
