My new 68
This is pictures of my 68 I picked up the other day. The bed and front is not bolted to the frame so it looks jacked up. Few rust spots here and there but nothing I cannot fix myself. I came with a fresh rebuilt 351 and c4 trans. The guy I bought it from put a crown vic front end and rear end in it already.
So the first things I wanted to know from you all is what you think and if anyone has a parts list to get the brakes hooked up on this sucker. I mean like brake booster and items to that effect. The truck is pretty much stripped of everything so it will be a frame off resto. Thanks for all the info and suggestions!

Your choices for power brakes are hydroboost (requires a power steering pump to operate the brake unit) or, a vacuum brake booster operated off of engine vacuum.
My '69 F100 2WD short bed Ranger had manual drum brakes all the way around and manual steering when I bought it nearly 5 years ago. I installed a Saginaw power steering gear box, Ford C-2 PS pump and a '77 F100 disc brake I-beam front suspension.
I pulled a dual diaphragm brake booster/mounting brackets from a '75 F350. I turned the booster in for a newly rebuilt booster from O'Reilly Auto Parts.

The master cylinder I used is a new unit that was originally for a '95 Explorer. I purchased it from NAPA part #3246.

The OEM/NOS brake valve was purchased off eBay. It's for an '84-'86 F150/Full-sized Bronco.
The brake line fittings on the MC are ISO metric bubble flare fittings. M10 x 1.0 primary port fitting and an M12 x 1.0 secondary port fitting. The rest of my brake system connections are SAE inverted flare fittings with 45° double flares on the hard lines.
Hydroboost has more pressure output potential than a vacuum booster but, there are no wrecking yard direct bolt-on hydroboost units for the '67-'72 Ford trucks. Modifications/adaption is required, hydraulic lines have to be made and having a power steering pump is a must --the pump should really be designed specifically for hydroboost. This type of pump will have TWO return line ports.
