Cabin air intake location (1997)
Anyone know where the cabin air intake location is? I'm not talking about the air filter.
My 97 F150 has some sort of exhaust leak and it's coming into the cabin when the heat is on. I want to tape up the cabin air intake port but I don't know where it is. On later models, it's on the right passanger side near the cowl of the hood. Where is it on the 97?

The cabin pulls outside air from the cowl vent on the right side. Are you saying your getting fumes when the HVAC is set to recirculate mode? If so, it doesn't matter if you block that...the fumes are already in the cab at that point.
You can access that area by removing the wipers, then locate the 6-8 or so small phillips head screws that secure the black plastic cowl grill (some are tough to see, grab a flashlight). That comes off in two pieces. Both pieces then have a retainer on the far ends that you need to carefully pop up to remove without breaking the tabs.
