The Official Camper Mod Thread ......

We made sure our camper came with the optional bumper mounted Aussie Grill and rear propane quick connect. I knew the Aussie wouldn't be very good.... it burned everything in the middle and everything toward the edges would be raw.
After one season I did a little cutting and welding on the bracket to mount a Weber. Had to remove the regulator from it and adapt the quick connect to work on the camper's low pressure system.

If I remember correctly, axles are about 42" on center. I will measure next time I'm at the storage facility. I purchased the equalizer from etrailer, (14 5/8" spread), the wet bolt kit is morride (UO12-016). I'm pleased with this upgrade, so much more confident in the ride of the RV.

Well, I'll put in my 2 cents worth - our 2016 Keystone Cougar 21RBSWE has lots of minor upgrades/changes, such as 2 x 6V batteries, Fantastic Fan and towel racks etc. in the bathroom, LED lights wherever possible, key rack next to the door, winterizing valve on the water pump, modified Weber BBQ to attach to trailer propane outlet, foam sealant in all openings to the under floor space, dealer installed 90W solar panel and charge controller.
Bigger changes:
Replaced pins with bolts for the slide out rear bumper to minimize bouncing, and added a custom bike rack welded together from a 2 inch receiver rack - it is removed via 2 pins when sliding the bumper back in:
We also knocked out the false panel below the 3 kitchen drawers, ordered a replacement drawer front, and mounted it on hinges. This gives us a large storage compartment directly over the wheels - prime real estate!
Replaced the standard very noisy kitchen hood fan with one from the Fantastic Fan guy - http://www.fabulousoperatingproducts.com/upgrade-kit - much quieter!
Added reading lights on each side of the bed:
My next change will be the hardest - I need to find a way to move heavy items from the front storage to somewhere at or behind the wheels to improve the tongue weight. Any ideas? I'm driving with anywhere from 900 to 1100 lbs hitch weight and at my RAWR - I should be at around 800 lbs hitch weight based on the trailer weight (never over 6200 lbs)...

Super cheap mod, at least for me. I replaced the Camco velcro straps on my awning struts with double sided velcro that I already had laying around. I use a length of velcro from the same roll to keep the lid on my battery compartment on the tongue. I bought the roll of velcro at Home Depot I believe. It's come in quite useful.
The Camco straps can be purchased for $5. But my experience with them is that they are flimsy and don't last worth a darn in the sun. The last set I bought lasted less than a year.

We’ve added several things over the years such as towel racks, command strip type hooks to the bathroom door and upgraded to all LED lighting inside. This year however, I had the local mobile tint guy come out to do my windows. I went with the mirror effect tint which from the inside is very minimal darkening however from the outside it’s almost impossible to see in and has greatly reduced the heating in our trailer. Well worth the money nd the privacy without having to draw the blinds constantly is amazing!

The aluminum box is 48 lbs vs 175 for the steel one.
I can put my grill and 50 amp cable in it. I have an under body spare mount so it's not in the way.
