XLS Step Side

Does any one have a picture of a 82/83 XLS step side in blue? I have found a bronco but now I want to see a step side

That's a nice-looking truck, Reamer!

Ya know, when these things were new and I ran across them in the parking lots, I thought they were ugly as sin and couldn't understand why anyone would want one. Now thirty years later, my attitudes and perspective have changed (although I still wouldn't want one as a work truck for hauling firewood and such).

I know what you mean ctubutis, Yes, the styleside is more advantageous for "large volume hauling", but I was never a long-bed fan, and the Honda 650 fit in back just right. (at the time). Now they are very seldom seen any more, and I get a lot of "head twisting" as I drive by.....

I have done some pretty extensive image searching on the web for XLS stuff. I have not come across any blue trucks, only Broncos. Member FirstToday said he got his bezel set out of a blue pickup in the junkyard. Seems that the blue and silver versions were less common than the red and black versions. Have you seen the blue XLS bronco at Bronco Graveyard? The black rear bumper is missing but otherwise in great shape.

I don't think I've ever heard of an "XLS" trim on this vintage truck. I'm familiar with "Custom", "XL", "XLT" and "Lariat". Am I missing something?

The XLS package was available in 82-83. It basically replaced the free wheeling package from 80-81.

It's a very rare trim level offered in 82-83 only. It replaced the Freewheel package trucks offered 78-81. They had all trim blacked out except emblems, a vinyl stripe package, silver spoke wheels, black border around windows, and distinctive brushed aluminum instrument and radio bezels. They came in red, black, silver and blue.

Edit: 85MOTORSPORT beat me to it
