Fuel pump. Not sure how. F250 91' I.D.I.

Found out through another site about the (circle of failure) and replaced it. However it seems my AirTex mech. fuel pump is out (again). So I have decided to replace it with a Facet Duralift elec. fuel pump. I need step by step instructions. Do I HAVE to take the old fuel pump off? Anyone?

facet duralift is the way to go.
i have mine hooked up to a switched power source in the fusebox, others use an oil pressure relay switch. it is up to you how you want to hook it up. you can disconnect the lines leave the mechanical pump on the block, or take it off and use a fuel pump block off plate to seal the hole in the block. .i have a blockoff plate on mine, and used a brass nipple adapter to connect the line from the tanks to the line going up to the filter head. my pump is mounted up top to the filter head.
i thought i had some pictures of my pump mounting, but i can't find them.
if you scroll down the forum page to the pre powerstroke section, there are a few detailed write-ups on adding the facet pump.
