Question 1 to 2 inch lift?

I was wondering if anyone knew of an inexpensive way to get 1-2 inches of lift for a 99 250 psd 4x4? Any suggestions are welcome.

Add A Leafs Are Great On a Powerstroke For about 1.5" of lift. I have a pair on mine and It cost about $90 from Skyjacker.

Slap some 2" aluminum blocks under the springs, front and back, and get some longer u-bolts made for it. That's all it takes, I've had that setup on mine for almost 2 years, and the alignment never faltered or anything. Took a little over an hour.

now why would you add a block to the front axle? seems to me you're just asking for trouble... I'd go with the add-a-leaf if you're only looking for 1-2". Tuff Country has a kit for under $100.

add-a-leavs all the way! never block the front, very dangerous. Look in my gallery under "before lift" to see my truck with an add-a-leaf up front and a 1inch block in the back. good luck

What's dangerous about a block on the front axle? They've been doing it on every other solid front axle vehicle for many years now.

when you brake, the weight transfer to the front end compresses the front springs and the blocks tend to 'spit' out. it's very hard on the u-bolts.
when you say "they", who are you referring too? Other guys or the factory? I've heard of people welding in a cast iron block to the front spring perch then mounting their springs on top of it. I'd have to say that I'd put alot of faith in the welder.
an alternative is the Edge mini-spring kit other superduty owners have been using. i' don't know much about it since I have the old body style.

I think it's around $210-220. It is connected to the stock pack via a new, longer center pin.

Just FYI, I believe that putting blocks in the front is illegal in all states........

Hope this helps.

Post 1 to 2 inch lift?

For reference:

In KY, there are no rules about how to lift or how much but the state troopers can use their discresion about what is "safe and reasonable". You could use blocks on the front but with the tremendous weight of the PSD why stress the stock springs more than necessary. I chose to assist these with an add-a-leaf kit and upgraded shocks.

My buddy with a 1993 F350 4x4 did have a front spring failure while hauling a load of cattle. The main leaf cracked over the axle.
