59 Ford F100 Short Bed Value?
Looking at a 59 Ford F100 Short Bed, V8 (unknown if original) with an auto trans. Needs a little work (gas tank, brakes, seats, ect), but it's all there and looks to be in decent shape. Is anyone able to give me a rough value on it?
Pics are attached.
Thanks!!

A running and driving 59 should be worth 2K and up. I would be most concerned with cab floorboard rust and if there is any rust around the windshield seal. Looks like the wipers are gone to clear the engine. It has 58 hood trim on a 59 hood for some reason? Also check the wiring. If thats butchered that will take time and money. Also check the quality of the trans and engine swap. If it looks like a hack job figure on redoing that. More time and money.......etc. And what is the primer hiding?

Thank you both for your opinions - it really means a lot. I've attached a few more pics to see if that helps. Honestly very little bit helps, from the no wiper arms to the hood trim and everything in-between. I have never worked on a truck from this decade, or anything before a 2000 for that matter, so even telling my the ***** are off is a huge positive. Sorry for being such a noob, I just don't want to make a mistake and overpay for something that is not worth it.
Attached are more pics.
Thanks again!!

just letting you no what all is bad and what you are missing, again no wipers, missing door panels/window crank/*****/front turn signal lens both sides/hood lettering and screen should have letting ford on front of hood/thingsi see that are bad both front fenders both doors both rear of bed below taillights, quite a few things wrong, might have a lot of bondo under that primer, check floor in cab and front inside of bed and around windshield, not knocking the truck just giving you heads up on what is wrong that I can see in pictures, does motor trany work good,it will need a lot of work to restore it,and some work just to make it a safe daily driver, check it out good,

Not bad, but I'd save my money for one that hasn't been worked over so much. For not too much more $$ overall it might have good original paint say, (or good enough) and stock engine and drivetrain that has been restored/rebuilt. A '59 would have had a 292 V8 Y block.
For my money a "survivor" that has been competently maintained is preferable. They are out there, keep looking, be willing to fly in or drive a ways, while they cost some $$ the value is there because you'll soon discover, these "project" trucks take a whole bunch of time or money (and usually both) to get to a mechanically sound and reliable level to say nothing about cosmetics or creature comforts and fancy bits.

This truck looks to have a fair bit of half **** work done to it. To me it is worth about $1000 - 1200, if the cab is OK. Can't tell from the pictures if the rear corners are full of bondo and what kind of shape the cab supports and floor is in. If the cab is shot it is near worthless, especially without the original motor and trany.
As others have said, the primer is scary, does the owner have any pictures before the primer?
The passenger side rear looks like it was hit. Passenger side front fender looks like it has lots of bondo just in front of the door.
You sound pretty green. Saying they you didn't know if the engine and transmission was original when the transmission is a an automatic but the truck has a clutch pedal illustrates that. I am not picking on you, it is merely an observation that tells me you are pretty green and should look for a truck in better shape, this one will likely take more work and money than it is worth. I would only buy this truck if it had some sentimental value, like it was my father's or grandfather's.
This is a great hobby and I encourage you to do it, however I would find a better starting point. Hope this helps and good luck.
