79 F250 aftermarket wheels question
Hello FTE.
I've tried searching for an answer to this question and have just become more confused by the varied responses I've read.
I'm being gifted my grandfather's 79 F250 4x4. It has 16.5" wheels now and the tire size is hard to come-by. I'm driving to pick it up in a couple weeks, so I don't have pictures and much more information. I think he has always bought BFG A/T tires for it or as long as they have been available.
I'd like to switch to a 16" wheel for better tire choices.
my question is what size wheel do I need to search for that would fit the truck without modifications? I don't plan to lift it for mudding or anything. I just want to put a good sized all-terrain tire on it which will fill up the wheel wells without rubbing (33" or so tire).
I'm a noob when it comes to understanding the backspacing and offset stuff.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
