New batteries no power lights horn etc

Thought my batteries were going bad due to the cold. Bought new batteries and started it once and fired up. 30 minutes later I have no power lights horn or anything. Not sure what would cause the truck to have anything. 2001 7.3 464,000 miles

I would start by testing the batteries, sometimes they get weak on the shelf and you have to charge them.
Then clean your grounds and check that the small grounds going to the fenders. Also make sue your connections are good, just because they are tight doesn't mean they are good.

I missed the 2001 part that adds a couple possibilities those have there own forum
still check to see if your batteries have juice in them and check you maxi fusses, and check to see that the line that goes to run the cab didn't get broke in while you were changing the batteries.

I unhooked the batteries and hooked it back up and it started. Went and tried it 5 minutes later and no lights or power. Not sure what it is doing.

maybe the battery cable(s) are bad, or heavily corroded inside the insulation..
