Excellent point if you live in snowy zones. I ran HIDs in a BMW in France and they always melted the snow. But I once hit an ice storm that coated the halogen headlights in our other car 1/4" thick with ice, so when the ice is really heavy as in freezing rain, your goose is cooked no matter what light source you have. You have to stop and use RainX or another alcohol-based product.

Here in TX we only get a few morning freezes a year. But I'd bet that Ford did cold weather testing on the Super Duty LED headlights. They are small, concentrating the heat in a small area, which is probably on purpose so they de-ice. If you look on the back of LED headlights you find large heat sinks. Most of the heat that they produce comes off the back, which doesn't help for de-icing purposes.

Anybody tried these bulbs there? Our stock lenses were weak when new, and now they are so dulled and yellow that I don't think any bulb would help us. And I don't want new, weak, blurry Ford lenses. We need a whole headlight assembly built for LEDs.
I installed Trucklites LED's, the light is exceptional and the cut off is outstanding, no blinding on coming traffic.
If you have sealed beams the Trucklites are plug & Play. If you have the upgraded light package (uses bulbs) it's a bit more involved but worth the work. I have not had much of an issue in winter unless it's blowing extreme snow.

Note: Led's don't make enough heat in winter, Trucklites do make a heated version unfortunately they are 7" round. I use a product called Ice Cutter and it prevents ice buildup.

LOL, I'll get a picture of them on tomorrow night. I'm getting a remote start installed tomorrow and dropped the truck off tonight.

If you have sealed beams the Trucklites are plug & Play. Big SNIP
So if I follow you correctly, said Truck-lite LEDs would plug directly into a Bullnose and replace its sealed beam headlights. Oh boy oh boy oh boy, is this the product? Headlights | Truck-Lite
That's my Bullnose in the avatar above.

Yes, 5x7 is the size of the TL's. They have an H4 adapter, if your truck has an H4 then it's P&P. If your truck has something different then you'll have to get an H13 to H4 adapter as an example. I bought a set of sealed beam housings off eBay and had to use the pigtails that came with the sealed beams, they worked perfectly to match the TL's with the truck wiring.
I purchased my TL's off EBay, typically they're about $320/pair.

I have 05-07 headlights in my truck. I ordered these led's to go in them

Can't get the link to work but I have the JDM Astar's and they work great from amazon.

So far I love them. They have little fans on the back to keep them cooled. I had one start flickering about 3 months after purchase. Sent them an email and they shipped me a brand new one no questions asked.

They come with a allen wrench to clock them to fit your application. They really do work great for me.

I installed these today: http://a.co/6H9fqd0
They are pricey, but they fit as snug or snugger than the OEM bulbs and they are well built. The light was very even and way brighter than the halogens. They don't use a fan, only a small ballast that zip ties onto something. Very easy install and the cutoff lines were really close to OEM. They are RF isolated and haven't caused any related issues. As for longevity, we'll see...
