Per the instructions I used upfitter #4 and a 21k resistor. High idle works, slight delay and gradual ramp up to 1150 rpm, but why does the wiper turn on for just one wipe now at startup?

 

Mine used to do that; washer fluid wouldn't always work too. Replaced the turn dignal stalk and everything works fine. May have just been coincidental that it started when you did a mod.

 

On a 2016 that is 3 weeks old? I hope not. Anyway, seems to have stopped now.

I've seen the problem you are talking about on a relative's F-150 - the windshield washer won't operate when its very cold out.

After more driving last night, it's not doing that behavior anymore. I'm at a loss as to why.

my 2012 occasionally does one wipe on startup
i told the dealer about it, but of course they couldnt fine anything.
it doesnt do it often enough for me to worry about

 

No problem; some stuff doesn't show up on the mobile version if this site.

The wiper stalk on my 2011 F350 started going bad in 2012. Didn't fugure it out until this summer when it got worse.

You should tell the dealer to replace it under warranty. It's just a plug and play part.
