Talking 61 F100 4x4 Shortbed

Hi I'm new to this group but I am going to be picking up a 61 F100 4x4 short styleside. I don't know much about these trucks I'm more a chevy guy but what I've been told this is a not so common truck. I'll post pictures and the vin to verify it with you guys. But I ended up trading a vehicle to get this. But I was wondering if I could get some more info on this one. Thanks

Yes, not only the VIN, but if you can get all the codes off the warranty plate in the glovebox it gives a lot more info that can be handy and we can decode it for you.

Not many 61 F100 4x4's made - even less left today.

I had no idea that there was so little made in the production line. Now I hope everything checks out.

Flaresides outnumbered Stylesides by about a 10:1 ratio.

So it's looking like rare doesn't translate to desirable in this truck. I saw that another member has one and it didn't sell for too much on eBay.

I think they might have messed up the order of the stamping a little and it should be

Not the first time we have seen something similar.

The 120" wheelbase trucks usually carried a full length 8' bed, so not considered to be a shortbed, which is roughly 6.5' long. Unless I'm mistaken you could drop a full sized sheet of plywood in the back and close the tailgate. If so, not a shortbed. It's probably the 1957-1960 style truck bed that was continued in use up through 1966 on the F250 4x4, and others along the way.

In kind of confused by your reply. The bed is a 60 earlier bed but this truck is not a true shortbed your saying it's a f100 long bed technically?

In 1961 if you got a styleside pickup then it would be a longbed, yes. Can you post some pictures of your truck - maybe one showing the bed from the side? If it looks like these trucks of mine then it is a longbed.
