Supercharge 2005 F150 or buy new '15

I'm currently in a dilemma right now. The current truck that I have now is a 2005 f150 regular cab 6'5" bed 5.4 v8 with 103k miles on it. I don't know whether I should supercharge it or buy a new f150 regular cab with the 5.0 v8. My truck already has stock 3.73 gears and for 7k I could supercharge it and get 0-60 times in the low 5s maybe even 5 flat. But then again those new trucks are light weight and can already do 0-60 times in the 5 sec range bone stock but for about 20k more than what I still owe on my current truck. Any advice would be helpful. I would be happy with either but I'm sorta leaning toward the new truck. Your thoughts??

My thoughts are that if you're honestly losing sleep trying to decide whether or not to pull the trigger on a new F150 because you're afraid it won't beat the 0-60 times of your Supercharged 10-year-old one...

....then you should probably get out of trucks altogether and buy yourself a Mustang.

Seriously.....this should not be the focal point of your argument with yourself.

Well I have thought about getting a '13 mustang GT but the thing is I like everything about trucks. They're aren't just for work. Even though I won't be using it for work, it comes in handy every once in a while and I'm fine with that.

I'm guessing that by your original post you owe money on your truck. I wouldn't dump big money into a truck that I owed money on unless it was to replaced a blown engine / trans.

My experience is that when you start modifying an engine for performance, you lose reliability.
Skip the possible performance increase of aftermarket and buy the "as built" performance of a known performer.

I agree. I bought a 5.0 2015 this summer and, with the lighter body and an upgrade to 385 hp and 387 ft/lb for the 5.0, I doubt you would be disappointed.

If speed is what you are looking for, then go F150 EB. Add a tuner and some bolt ons and then start investing in tires!
