Just a question out of curiosity...but which models of the 5th-gen Explorer got the "Explorer" emblazoned on the leading edge of the hood? It doesn't seem to be specific to a particular year, but it seems some Explorers have it and some don't. Is it part of a trim package?

 

If I'm not mistaken, it's only on the Sports.... (and those people that added it to non-sports )

like the wife's 2013 we are getting ready to turn back in at end of lease.

But we just test drove a 16 Limited with the ecoboost that did NOT have the badging.

 

Its on the sports and also appearance package explorers IIRC we i want it on my wifes explorer but im not paying the lik 180$ for some letters

the wife's 2013 letters are just stick on lettering that can be removed if you really wanted to
