1963 Ford F-350 brakes?!?!
I have a 1963 f350 dump truck that I'm trying to do brakes on. I got the fronts done easily and now I'm on to the backs. I am stumped on how to get the rear Drums off because the hub assembly is in front of the drum and seems to be held in there with the axle bolts. Does the axle on each side have to come out or am I just missing something? Any information helps! Just looking for someone who knows more about the old 1tons than me. Thanks!

I don't remember specifics but your F350 should have full-floating hubs. You will have to remove the bolts (or nuts) from the end of the axle and remove the axle so you can get to the hub nuts. Once the axle is out, you will find a bearing assembly that is arranged very similar to what you took apart in the front except it's lubricated by the gear oil from the differential. The bearings are held in place by large nuts screwed to the outside of the axle tube. IIRC, to take it apart, you will have to bend whatever tab is locking the outer nut; remove the outer nut; remove the washer in between; remove the inner nut then the bearings, hub and drum should slide off. Unless the brake shoes have the drum locked on. Then it will be necessary to "unadjust" the brakes to gain the needed clearance. Hope that helps.

I finally got it
Earlier I was looking at it and noticed the bolts and pulled the axle. Found the hub nut and took it off pulled the bearing and the drum came off! Happy I did it because let's just say 12 years of sitting really took a toll on the backing plate and wheel cylinder. Rebuilt the cylinders and she's good to go! Thanks for the help! I also found out it had brand new shoes and drums they have just been sitting on their for a long time replaced right before it was parked.

Sounds like you got through it in good shape. If the axles leak where they bolt on to the hubs, you may need to make a new gasket...or perhaps a good cleaning and a light coat of silicone gasket maker. Make sure you check the differential fluid level now that you've had it apart.
