Buying a '47 1/2 Ton

Hey, likely will be purchasing a '47 half ton tomorrow. Can anyone point me to a good inspection checklist? Or, anything unique to this model I should be looking for? Thanks in advance!

I imagine all of us would like to with a little more information, such as, is it a builder, is it supposed to be a turn key driver, stock engine, what modifacations does it have if it has been repowered? Other than that is the paint pretty?

The restoration is about 10 years ago in Chagrin Falls Ohio. Don't know the builder yet. Looks very stock...Rebuilt flat head and transmission (not original). Newer king pins. Motor, wires, hoses look clean. No rust or leaks that I can see from pics. The owner takes it out for a spin a few times a year but I'm looking to drive it more frequently once the wx warms up. I have someone lined up to install disk brakes on front and maybe drop spindles. Looking at it tomorrow for first time in person.

I would look under it to see if the frame has been butchered and for bad rust, also at wiring and brake lines to see if they had been replaced and not rusted bad. I am sure other folks will chime in here, but that would be my main concerns. Nothing on these old girls cant be fixed, it kind of depends on the asking price and what you can live with.

I find the stock brakes work very well when in good repair. I also don't expect them to act like disk brakes with no fade however. Dad's 40 sedan had excellent brakes. We put 3/4 ton truck wheel cylinders on it since that is what we had and it would stop.

I also extend my welcome! Sometimes I toss and turn all night before a ford truck purchase. Kinda like a kid on the night before Christmas. Can't wait to hear about it and see some pics!

I thought I would put a couple of them out here. OK? This pickup looks really nice! Really straight body. I like the pinstripe around the belt line.
