I just installed ForScan in WinD'ohs XP running under VirtualBox on my MacBook. I haven't tried connecting to the adapter yet, but I'll probably get to that tomorrow. I'll post my results.

WiFi is one of the connection options in ForScan, so it should work. I don't have a WiFi OBD adapter though, so I can't test it.

Yes the wifi will work. Downloaded Forscan last Thursday and it it found my netbook with no problem. Still learning the in's and out's of the program but is fairly easy to use.

In a similar vein I never got FORScan to run on Linux with Wine. FORScan installs and is functional except unable to connect to ELM327 via bluetooth. FORScan on my android phone connects fine via BT with same ELM327, but android version has no CCT, Buzz test, etc. Just listens, can't talk like the PC version.

I hope you have better luck on the Mac.

OP has the ELM327 referenced in this thread at amazon for $10.00 IIRC. OP- Thanks for all the hours & easy step by step pics. This is what I need as I am pretty much illiterate with the tech stuff, I call it" Born too long ago". Reps to ya

Thats a lot of work. Tugly has done a TON of it in the past, and continues to do it with AE and Torque. We appreciate efforts like this.

I have not seen that before Tugly, thanks for the info!! I could not find any reported issues with the VGate scanner that I am using which is why I selected it over the cheaper options when I was searching.

Reps sent!

I just ordered a Veepeak Wifi that was rated very good on Amazon. I read about 100 reviews last night so I thought I would give it a try. I plan to test with my iPad/iPhone, laptop and android. It was only $17 with prime free shipping with a no fee return or replacement. Could be a $17 lesson but I thought I would give it a try.

The BAFX is Bluetooth only, I believe. If the Veepeak is a flop, I may try the Vgate icar3 next.

Anyone getting blocked from downloaded the Windows version? I use Norton and it will not let me download the program. It says it is unsafe. I guess it would work if I disabled Norton...
