Radiator support fitment question

I have a 1986 f150 that a previous owner had started making into a prerunner project. One thing they did was try to convert it to a 1992 front end but they only changed the fenders and kinda retrofitted the header panel grille and headlights onto the 1986 radiator support and nothing really lined up. This weekend i went to the salvage yard and picked up a hood, wiper cowel and under grille trim piece from a 1995 f150. After installing the newer hood i noticed that it was sitting way high in the front so i took off the rubber feet that the hood rests on just to see and it looked alright but maybe a touch too high still.

So my question is the 1986 rad support too tall to use with the 95 hood?

You WANT a 92-97 radiator support if you are using 92-97 sheetmetal

It has after market flared fiberglass fender no wheel wells and nothing but the radiator and header panel attached to the support. I wasnt planning on using the hood latch so i figured i might be able to get away with it but i guess ill have to pick one up. Thanks

Good luck fitting anything stock to those aftermarket abortion of fenders.

Do you plan on making it rally truck? If not, get rid of the fenders and go back to OEM ones

Yeah i plan on using it as a prerunner. Nothing attaches to them its all hollow under there to allow for wheel travel. The bedsides are also flared glass and the bed is full of suspension so its pretty much just a toy

Then prepare to modify EVERYTHING.

I would get on a forum that caters to those style trucks

Oh i know there wont be much at all left factory with the body, steering and especailly suspension i was just wondering if the bullnose rad support was taller than the obs. I thought i might be able to get away with using the existing one but gettting the proper one will be easier all around to work with. I talked to a buddy yesterday and hes going to give me one from a 95 so its all good. Thanks for the replies

The 92-96/7 support is indeed shorter, the nose slopes down quite a bit while the 80-86 is more or less flat.
