Same, thanks for the reply, I thought I used to heavy a gauge based on all the aftermarket manufactures, I scratch built mine with 3/16" (.177wall) structural tube, I know it should not twist.

OK so I have to ask,
Bought or built? If built what did you start with?
What class are you racing in? road or track?
How did you get the cage in?
Motor mods?

We built this. Bought the car obviously and stripped it down had a friend put in the roll cage and we did the body and wrapping .

Circle track racecar. Can't do anything to it really motorwise. 4 fun is the name of class. Pretty much stock.

That's cool. My son when he was 15 wanted to race. Kind of like his dad I guess. So with the help of a couple of people we got him a car and put a cage in it as well. I rented the track for the day and taught him how to drive. Oh it was the same class, 4 for fun. Did it for 3 years. Great class. he had a blast with it. Later moved to mini stock. did that for 2 years then joined the military. Now a mechanic and him and his girl both have lifted jeeps and wheel most weekends. That kid has owned more cars in his 10 years of driving then I have in my 36 years. he learned so much that way.

My race car pulley setup wasn't allowing the alternator to spin fast enough at idle for charging. Can't buy it, make it.

Wow, that's a really small pulley. How does it do at high RPM?

It's small but my ratio is 3:1. My drive pulley is only 3.5"(biggest I can get for racing setup stuff). Alternator is 1.25". My alternator is good for 13,000 rpm. At idle, my alternator is at around 2400 rpm

May I ask what gauge metal did you use for the floor and is the floor going to be able to be removed by itself?
