I'll be interested to hear your feedback on the pinion mounted e-brake. I'll be converting to a full floater in the future and was contemplating a similar solution.

It looks like this Mar-K latch requires a double-wall tailgate? Maybe I'm not seeing that correctly.

Didn't want to cut out the rectangular shape and weld it it. So I did it my way.

Without testing it in an emergency situation. It works really good testing it as it sits. Wouldn't let me post video. Applies slowly then locks.

Yes, I guess it is more of a
parking brake than an emergency brake. But that's all I'd be looking for in any case.

There is a video on their site though where it is used as an emergency brake. Mine is really only there because it needs it to pass a safety.
