Blower motor pig tail part #

Anyone know the part number? Mine was extremely corroded. I put a new resistor in and 2-4 settings work now but 1 is still dead. The connector is in really bad shape and I need a new pigtail for it.

Any chance of you disconnecting the battery and cleaning the contacts/terminals with electronic cleaner and a pick or small file? I would try that first before trying to splice in a new connector.

Might try a junk yard if you have one near you.

Here's what the resistor side looked like.

I cleaned the plug as best as I could but use in really bad shape.

The one I posted the link to looks to be the correct connector. Any parts store should be able to cross reference it if you don't feel like ordering it and waiting.

Rockauto was OOS and the local salvage yards are short on Ford trucks. Advance Auto had one in stock and I had a Speed Perks reward so I bought from them along with some weatherproof connectors. My hope is to swap it out this weekend since it's supposed to be in the upper 40s.

Good deal. I noticed when I found that RockAuto link there was only one left in stock . . . At least you were able to get one locally.

Got this little install done and now the blower works like its supposed to.

This is the old one. Corroded inside and burns.

All set up with the new connector and resistor.

Nice job. Did you end up soldering the wires? I'll have to do this job shortly.

I used crimp connectors with shrink wrap tubing to protect against weather. I don't have a decent soldering iron just yet.

Thanks for posting (reps sent). Right now I only have 3 speeds (1,2, and 4). I have a new resistor and will also inspect the plug when I replace it.

Replaced the resistor yesterday. It was beyond corroded but the plug was good. Those screws were not designed for my sausage fingers to get to! Took a lot longer to change than expected (about an hour) between getting the screws out and the connector off. The plug wasn't corroded but it hadn't been disconnected in 13 years so it was stubborn to say the least.

Unless speeds 2 and 3 are almost identical it did not fix my problem. I'll have to do some more circuit tracing to see where I can go next. Regardless the resistor was in bad shape and was due for replacing anyway. At least I've ruled something out.
