So far it's a hit! I dropped it off at the hotel last night for my family, they drove it all over today and said it was great. This coming from people that have multiple new Mercedes Benz and Lexus's in the driveway. I think they are just being nice and are thankful they didn't have to get a rental haha

I got the truck back today when I dropped my family off at the airport, ran great for them no issues. They only put a little over 100 miles on it.

I took the Mounty out the Wasilla for New Years, 135 miles total and she ran perfectly cruising at 70-75mph. Before leaving I noticed the license plate lights were burnt out so I replaced them with some LEDs I had, REALLY lights up the back of the truck.

Not having snow tires on the freezing rain today sucked though!

Not a regular member here...

My girlfriend inherited a Mountaineer that looks exactly like that,,,same color, and around same mileage...but I believe its a 97...

We use it to go from the SF Bay area to Lake Tahoe...it runs great, but needs a little TLC...

Are there any mods for the fog lights...it seems that is one thing that is lacking on this vehicle is the headlights, and fog lights...

I took this to Scout Camp this past summer (about a 700 mile trip), and it performed great...but the A/C is a little lacking...

I can't wait to put different tires on it...perhaps some BFG All terrains...

The factory headlights are lacking, if you check Ebay there are a few upgrades you can do. My suggestion would be 1 piece projectors headlights with a HID conversion kit. I had that on my '96 Explorer for a few years before it was totaled and they worked great!

So, I've decided to drive the Mounty all week since it's supposed to warm up and start melting. This means we're going to have a week full of nasty brown road spray and I just washed my F-150 all up, don't want to get it all filthy.

First fillup I can calculate MPG.
Miles driven:227.0
Gallons used:19.00
MPG observed:11.9

This is about normal for me with this kind of truck. Lots of idle time on this tank also..I'm pretty happy.

oh I took this Video in the driveway the other day.

What a testament to the AWD system in those trucks. My first winter in ours was an eye opener as to the tenacity of AWD...it certainly handled like no other vehicle I'd driven in winter..and I liked it!

Any hits on CL yet?

I also love the AWD system in these V8 trucks.

Had a few bites so far nothing worth my time.

SOLD for $2,500.00

I was going to hold out for a bit more, but I really liked the people and the gal just moved here from Mexico and is starting out, so I dropped a little lower then I planned.

I'm an honest person with a heart, it was only the right thing to do.

BUT, when they gave me the cash last night a majority of it was in $20 bills. It took awhile to count and I only did it once, they went on their way and I put the money away to bring to the bank today. I get to the bank and they count it out and I only have $2,300!!! I'm sure i'm screwed because the burden of proof was on me to make sure I got everything I was supposed to. So i shot the guy a text and (the lady's brother in law) and said I know i'm probably screwed but I think I might be short $200. He calls close to 4:30pm and said she had counted her money about 10 times and thought that she had to much. Long story short I met up with him and got the last $200. Really great honest people...it restored some faith into humanity for me.
