Im taking apart the dash to find a short and take a look at my gas gauge since its off. Its empty mark is half a tank. But the main real question is I need to take two ***** off, the windshield one off so i can take the cover off for the instrument cluster.

A how to video would be best if anyone can make one. I saw that there is one post on here already on this and i tried it and it didnt work or im not looking hard enough

In picture 2, you see 2 small slots on the top of the *****. Stick a small screwdriver or similar in there to release the spring, and pull the **** off.

I have used a small allen wrench. Take the short side of the "L" and insert it into the slot and pull hard while also tugging on the ****. On some headlight switches, there is a button on the actual switch [under the dash]. If so equipped, the button can be pressed and the shaft will come out with the **** still intact. This will turn on the headlights, so the battery terminal will need to be disconnected.
