Zf5 42 to zf5 47

Finally finished swapping a zf5 47 into my 95 f 450. It had the zf5 42. The truck is much better now. It pulls harder reverse and first gear are much more useable. I also put bellowed uppipes and a d66 in it. Truck is running 2400 rpm at 70 now

Yes, the 47 is a MUCH more useable transmission. Anyone that says otherwise drives a grocery getter. I wish My F-superdtuy was a 96/97 just for that reason

I bought it years ago and it was on another truck I'm about to sell so I took it off. It's better than stock but can't compare it to anything else. I wouldn't pay full price for it again tho

No bad out of a truck with 4.63 or 5.13 gears

Actually I think it has 3.73 gears. I know it's not factory since at 70 it turns 2400 rpm

WOW, that kills the towing capacity and yes those numbers seem in line with 3.73

What does it do at 65 in 4th

Yeah It does kill the way it tows but the zf5 47 helped a lot and it was a free swap. I haven't had it at 65 mph in 4th but I'll try it.

Sounds like 4.10s. You do have 235/85/16 tires still, correct?
