Haven't posted here in a while as I'm knee deep in '46 and '47 projects, but I have a thing for the wreckers so I too want more pics, more info. And Mr. Arctic, nice to see you back to the forum and 'up and at 'em' as my dad would say..

Thanks Gary, Tis great to be back, even if for just a short time.
Sammywayne23, I can't reply to your PM or email you because of your security settings. But to answer your question: I bought the wheels through Jason at Les Schwab in Kenmore, WA. The wheels are built by American Wheel in Pasco, WA. I made a deal for six tires and wheels (powder coated black) purchased two at a time. In the pic is the steering wheels. I just picked up a set of two traction drivers last week.

May I slightly disagree? These I think are the factory new 22.5s that American Wheel Specialist has available. You can tell by the face that is wider than the old originals. Stu

Yes, that is true, and you can purchase them directly from American Wheel Specialists. The face is not only wider, there are only two hand holes as well. Not that I'm going to worry about it, but I understand the load capacity is greater than the OEM wheels. Incidentally, I will have three OEM split rims available, non-widowmakers, if anyone is interested.
Got to love por15 working on back half now little tougher with body on. When the wrecker was built they welded the back of it to the frame of the truck. Cutting it apart was going to do more harm then good.
Just a couple of update pictures built my own wheels

Looking good. I've heard from another guy that a filler strip is needed between the WM disc and new drop center 22.5" rims. Yours have a clean looking fit. Stu

yes I had to build little filler strips then weld the rivet heads in place but overall they turned out very well a lot of time and effort

Hey Bob, What's the outside diameter of those 22.5's?
