Life changing event!

Well guys, looks like I'm gonna be making a huge change in a few weeks. My close friend retired from the State Park as maintenance supervisor and I applied for the job. Interview was today and the Ranger just called to tell me that I have the job.
After being self-employed for 25 years this is gonna be a huge adjustment.
I think my body will thank me for the change, at my age the heavy lifting has gotten to be more than I can handle.

Congrats. I think you'll like the change AND your body will thank you for it. The only downside is a "loss" of freedom that will be a life changing event after 25 years. Good luck.

Had to read closely to make sure you hadn't lost your mind and ordered a brand new truck. I hear if you special order...it takes a couple of weeks for delivery; not that I have that kind of cash laying around to even float such a crazy idea. Glad to hear things are going to be easier on your body. Which area/park are you going to be working out of?

Moro Bay State Park, just across the water from home.

You'd better get one of those auxiliary fuel tanks so you can make the trip without having to fuel up everyday. Reckon it's a good thing you've got that 5 banger under the hood of your truck.

Doubt that the truck will even be started, boat across to the marina as we do daily already and walk about 100 yds. to work.

I was trying to be sarcastic, clearly I should have used one them smiley faces. At any rate, congratulations and enjoy those 18 paid holidays a year.

Yeah Zac, we've come to expect that. ;-)

Really though, I know most of the folks in the park already, been camping there for years and living here for 3. I've walked around the grounds and have been impressed by how clean and well kept the place is. I'll have my hands full keeping it that way. One thing I have going for me is the fact that it is a small park and everyone is pretty laid back.
Looking forward to opening this chapter in my life.
