anybody add 2 cycle to fuel

I read Rusty's thread on fuel additive and am going to try the Ford brand of cetane boost but wondered if anybody else adds two cycle oil to fuel. I had read this a few years back and have been doing it for the last several thousand miles. Can't decide if it is that important or not but thought I would see what other opinions and experiences are

I've used it some last year. Haven't even used DK this year. Will start back using DK white bottle for the winter here pretty soon though.

I did do it for quite a while and just got tired of
all the dump this and that in. Now I just stick with PM-22.

The 2 cycle oil did change the sound to a quieter state.
Not sure it if helped any or not.

Same as Sean says, quieted things down but for crying out loud I got sick of dumping this and that as well. I run PS grey bottle when it's warmer, but have since switched to the white bottle as freezing temps have set in overnight.

I do want to start using PM 22, anyone else running that along with PS white bottle?
Or just go with the PM 23 for cold temps and do away with PS white bottle?

Too many choices!

A lot of people use it but it is still debated a lot as to how much good it actually does other than quitening things down a bit. In the end it is your choice.

You know, I can't say whether it does any good or not, as others have said. But I have to assume that it does something good being that the injectors are quieter. When you think of the surface contact that is making the injectors rattle in the first place, which I would think would certainly result in friction, I have to figure that we are reducing friction when we make the noise goes away when adding 2 cycle oil. Lately I've been pre-mixing 2 cycle oil with DK white or gray (depending on time of year) and keeping it in the DK bottle. I just increase the dosage to compensate for the dilution of DK.

But we'll see. If the smartypants diesel techs keep steering away from 2 cycle, I may follow their coarse as well and simplify life with just DK or the Ford stuff.

I used it a lot last year and till spring this year. 1oz per gallon of fuel. As been stated here. I got tired of dumping and really didn't see an improvement except for maybe being slightly more quiet.

I have since switch to the ford cetane additive only. In doing so, I have noticed about the same quietness and better idling. I'll be using this additive along with the archoil 6200 and 6400-D as needed respectively.

I was doing the 2 stroke on every tank for about a year now. The last week or two I did no additive at all. The truck is noticeably louder. I stopped using the 2 stroke because I think I have another injector going out and thought the 2 stroke could be carbon-ing up the injector tips. I have no proof of this though. I just switched over to the Ford PM22.

I do think the 2 stroke was good lubrication for the fuel pump.

Hmmm, I suppose that could be a consideration. How much does Ford get for the PM22? Is it available at other sources than Ford, where price may be more reasonable?

The little a in the PM-22a denotes the size of the bottle.
You can also get the PM-22 in gallon size and then refill a
PM-22a bottle with enough for one dose. That works really
good for around town driving and short trips. The other thing
I find nice are the plastic storage boxes with the rubber O-ring
type seal in the lid. Keeps the smell in the box and not in the
cab if that is where you want to store any of the stuff.

Boy yeah. That is why I don't keep the DK in my truck. I did at first until the smell just got too much.

PM-22 is bad but I have also got a whiff of the DK.

I think that the smell would stay in but each time it was opened
it will get out to do it nastiness.
