Roto-master T04B35 turbo rebuil questions???

I purchased a used Banks non waste gated turbo kit for my IDI. The turbo is a Rotomaster T04B35 and I know nothing of the history of it. There is no end play but, there is radial play or wobble. I would like to rebuild it before installing it but have had no luck finding a kit. I will call rotomaster direct tomorrow but from what I've heard they don't deal with these anymore. Also is there any replacement impellers for these? The one on the air side has a few small chips and the speed these things spin I would prefer it be in better condition.

I would check directly with banks for a new turbo wheel, they might be able to give you the most information. In my experience, they have been extremely willing to help. As far as a rebuild goes, most companies use suppliers for their bearings. If you pull them out, they will have casting numbers. I have had great success at locating bearings on those numbers alone.

Good luck, and post your progress,

Mac.

just call Banks 1-800-601-8072
they should still have all the parts needed to rebuild that turbo, or be able to tell you where to get them.

I contacted Banks and they were no help. They don't provide parts for these turbos. I called Rotomaster and left a phone message and an email to the guy (his name escapes me right now) in turbo parts department and he hasn't gotten back to me. I can find rebuild kits on the internet for Garrett T04B and Rotomaster T04B. Does anybody know if they would fit the Rotomaster T04B35 turbo? I have taken the turbo apart and everything seems to be in very good condition after cleaning and looking closely.

same kits, I likely have a new wheel. BUT, some of those used a smaller wheel. I can machine the housing for the bigger one.

ALSO ,some of these had a carbon seal, on comp side, if you do, it will leak when you are done, time to upgrade it to the dynamic seal and backplate.

@typefour
Thank you for the reply. After I got everything apart and cleaned up I inspected the wheels and they are in good condition. I'm not going to go with a bigger wheel at this moment. I will email you.
