headers on a 460 in a 56 f100

I have Sanderson block huggers. The problem is with a rear sump pan, the driver's collector is a couple of inches directly over the dipstick tube. Rather than have a passenger side tube fabricated, wondered if any of you have dealt with this?
Thanks
James

I can't say for sure but you could check with Lokar, they have a cable type dip stick which is in a stainless steel sheath tubing that should work. I have them for my transmission and engine oil dip sticks on my sbc in my panel.

Thanks. My collector dumps directly over the pan spout. It would need to make a 90 bend. Guess my 460 header was for a front sump. Guess when I yank engine to install higher stall converter, I'll have to get the pan altered to passenger side......
Btw,,love your panel!

56 f100 with MII and 460

Perhaps a better question is: what headers are you guys using with this combination? Any long tube users?
Thanks

I've got the Sandersons on mine( 460, rear sump, Mustang 2 front). The Lokar is a no go, as the bottom fitting is just too bulky. The dipstick was a pain, basically, I massaged the fitting in the sump pan, very carefully re shaped the tube to clear the headers, and welded on a new bracket to pick up on a header bolt. Obviously I took the old bracket off. I could offer you an image, but I suspect it won't help, as I can't get into the pan end to show you, now the headers are on. I couldn't get the retaining clip in, so have sealed it using a mastic. It is very solidly mounted and expect it to work and hopefully will. Engine not yet run.

Time is cruel! I forgot to add, I also moved the flange on that side and put in a tight 90 degree elbow. I also cut through the exhaust almost entirely, to move the flange further away from the dipstick point, and re-filled with a panel. I'll try and attach a couple of images.

Thanks! You supplied another option to consider.
