help my 95 won't start

I rebuilt the fuel filter housing, when I put it back together I forgot to refill the housing with fuel before trying to start, I have been cranking this engine forever and still not even getting smoke out the tailpipe, much less any semblance of starting. I ran it for a little while with a rag soaked in gasoline to try and save my starter, but was warned away from doing that any more. The trick ran fine before the rebuild, and found out afterwards that I didn't need to rebuild, both hp fuel lines coming off the fpr were horribly cracked and that was where I was losing fuel. Wt a light works, and all my fuses are good except my trailer wireing harness fuse, I just found out I need to move across country for work and I really need this trick running, please help

Did your fuel bowl fill up after all that cranking?

Yes it did, filled all the way up, I have pressure at the Schrader valve and saw fuel spray at the end of the hp fuel line where they connect to the head

May still have a little air in the system. Also make sure your batteries are fully charged while cranking.

Re-check all your wire connections.

@stainlessstroker
That's what I thought, but it has been so long with no signs of life, and I keep a charger connected to it constantly

@91duelly
Just went through all the wire connections again, everything is connected

When you had the bowl out did you check the wires that run around it? When I pulled mine they were in real bad shape.

You left something unhooked or un plugged . The last two times I had my fuel bowl out it restarted within a few seconds without re filling the bowl.FP means the pump is working , no smoke means the injectors are not firing . Look at the wiring again .

Ok I will pull the bowl out again tomorrow and double check all connections, cause I've lost count of how many times I've run the battery down cranking this thing, so if this has been too long for air in the lines, then I must have missed something

You don't need to pull it to check all of the connections .

I agree, I should be able to see all the connections, but all the connections I can see are connected properly, the only thing I haven't done is pull it apart again to ensure all connections are good

So I have opened the filter housing and pulled out the filter, then pulled out the heating plate, and the is no filament on the heating plate, nor is there any wires inside at all. I put everything back together and jumped the one fuse that was blown to see if maybe I just had the fuse map wrong, trying to start now

Still no luck, found exposed wire on one of the injector/glow plug harnesses, so I have taped that up for now till I can order new harnesses. Checked fuel pressure at the Schrader valve, got > 20psi (with an old bike tire pressure gage) this is so frustrating

I can only assume it ran before " rebuilding" the fuel bowl . What exactly does that mean ? If you have fuel pressure at the heads , its not the fuel delivery system . Even at 20 Lbs , it will start .
