Hello,

I'm attempting to remove my driveline to lube my slip joint. I have a 04 f350 crewcab longbed and all the guides I have seen are a little bit different than mine. I have removed the four bolts at the rear axle and removed the band on the slip joint cover but I can't seem to get the driveline to fall.

I have beat on it and can't get it to budge. It seems like the carrier bearing is holding everything up. Should I remove the 4 bolts closest to the transfer case?

 

Nevermind feel like an idiot. I beat on it with a hammer for over an hour. Ended up popping it into drive with the truck running and it spun it self off. Probably dangerous but oh well it came off with no difficulties.

 

NOT GOOD. The driveling is balanced and a hard hit like that could cause issues. You shouldn't have to beat it with anything, but if you do a brass hammer and strikes on the YOKES is advised.
