17" tires on 20" wheels?

Hey everybody, been on here a long time but havent posted in a while.

So, I bought some stock 2006 F150 20" wheels from a guy I met. They are this style wheel:

2006-2008 Ford F150 Truck 20" Rims 3646

I have the stock steel rims, 17", on my truck now.

I was wondering if I could simply swap out the wheels. New wheels are 20" old tires are 17". Can I mount the old 17" tires on the new 20" wheels or will my truck explode, wife die, and cause Hillary to end up president if I do that?

I don't believe those are reasonable fears ....... but if Hillary get's it ..... we know who to blame now.

Take 'em on down to the tire store for the swap. They might ask you to do an errand for them - something like; 'Hey, we're all tied up but if you want to speed up the process, you could drive over to the other store and tell them Dave sent you for the tire stretcher'.

Really?

No, you cannot. That's impossible.

17's on 20" wheels?!? Despite your wife telling you that 3" isn't very big, it might as well be 10" for your purposes.

I dunno, man, but he's from Cali, so it's possible he actually did not know that.
