7.3 running rough after warms up
Hey guys I have a 1997 7.3 powerstroke that i resealed the hpop it started but run rough. I seen in there that everyone said to drive it for around 50 miles and it would work all of the air out of the lines and go back to normal. Well I have been driving it for a few days and have about 100 to 150 miles on it and it's not getting any better at all. When I first start it idles weird like it's running on just a few cylinders but after a few seconds it starts to idle normal but then the check engine light comes on as soon as it starts idling normal. It also seems to be knocking pretty loud. And when I try to drive it it has absolutely no power what so ever like its hard to make it pull its own weight. And it never changes no matter how long the drive is it never changes. I need help bad with this one its my daily driver and for the life of me I just can't figure it out!!!!

It took me a 160 miles to get the air out so your almost there. But, with those miles you should be bleed out by now. The next thing I would do is get the codes read and go from there. Maybe when you were messing with the hpop you moved or hit one of the plug in for the valve gasket causing it to not be plugged in just right knocking out a cylinder or two.

Without the code it's a guessing game. If I had to guess and since you indicated it idles good as soon as the check engine light light comes on the ICP sensor could be bad. If the PCM detects bad readings from it it will disable the sensor, turn the CEL light on and attempt to control pressure through other means.
