So I went to a buddy's place and he let me tear into his truck (he has the PTC). As it turns out, the connector is on the actual plenum/evaporator harness, which is part 19D605. So looks like I just need to order that harness as well - should be cheap. When I spoke to Ford parts person, she told me only one part number showed up for that, which is clearly not correct. Anyway, off to the dealer tomorrow for one more harness. On the dash harness side, there are 12 wires and only 9 on the plenum side so the extra wires in the plenum harness also look like they will have a home on the controls side. Wish me luck!

Dang, that is hard core. Please don't take this as a smart alek question but wouldn't it be easier to wire in an electric (120v) space heater to do the job. Be easy on me, I'm in Texas and don't fully understand what cold weather owners have to put up with.

Yeah it definitely would be easier and I actually used that setup on a combined timer with my block heater. I park my truck indoors now so in truth I don't even need this heater anymore but since I was in there anyway, I had to give it a try.

So my main issue right now is that I cannot find multiple part numbers for 19D605. All I can find is 19D605-A. Even the dealer said there is only one part number. But clearly the one in my truck does not have the connector for the PTC heater and my buddy's does.

My harness.

My BC3T-19D605 harness has only 9 connectors on it while the fiche for the BC3Z-19D605 harness appears to show 10 connectors (the one I need appears to be on there) so I am assuming that the part must have been updated and they are all the same now.

Ford Changed their harness construction to create harness with more connectors on it so they would stock only one harness instead of multiple harness for similar applications such as you are experiencing.

From Ford Parts website.

Service Wire Harness May Contain Extra Connectors. Consult TSB 06-17-8 For Service Procedures

Think the harness you need could be either depending on when your truck was built

Location #20 - BC3Z-19D605-A WIRE HARNESS W/DUAL ZONE AC, TO 1/18/12 $71.83 $47.41

Location #20 - CC3Z-19D605-A WIRE HARNESS W/DUAL ZONE AC, FROM 1/19/12 $35.08 $23.16

Same harness is shown for use on heaters w/o ac also.

I have a 2016 F-250 XLT 6.7L CCSB 4x4 truck equipped with PTC. I just HvBOMed my VIN and came up with CC3Z-19D605-A as the correct part number for my truck if this helps. I am very curious as to why my truck would use a 2012 model year prefix for the part number as opposed to a 2015 model year prefix (since this is when PTC became an option as far as I know).

PTC has been an option since I purchased my truck in 2011. I just didn't know about until about two weeks after I took possession of my truck.

Thank you sir. Definitely helps to understand what that service comment on the parts descriptor meant. Mine is a 2011 so I am almost 100% sure that I need the BC3Z one since every other part on my truck also begins with that prefix.

I looked up TSB 06-17-8. The TSB mainly deals with what to do with the spare connectors in wet and dry areas. Dry areas you tape them to the harness. Wet areas they have you cutting the connectors off and covering them with a heat shrink butt style connector.

The RapidHeat supplemental cab heater has been available since the introduction of the 2008 Super Duty. I learned about it in the brochure and owner's guide for my '08 which didn't have it. Which prompted me to find a truck that had it when I bought my '11.

Far from pretty but it ought to keep mints and pennies from falling down into the Evap housing and binding up the blend doors. Why ford didn't have a screen over these vents is beyond me!?

New harness arrived. Has the extra connector and it looks like the rest of the wiring matches up except the main connector has 12 wires as opposed to 9 on the other one but there are 12 on the truck side so looks like it all matches up now. So hardware looks good. Only question remaining will be the programming. I guess we will know soon enough....

10 connectors!!!
