Spectra F45A 30.5 gal mid tank on OBS?
Guys,
I'm trying to find out if this tank fits my truck: 97 F350 7.3 CC LB 4WD and I'm getting mixed info based on what site I look at.
Amazon and Rockauto say yes, but others say no. Rockauto also says "under 8500 GVW".
Is this tank only available on Supercab, or Regular cab or something?
Didn't get any other hits save for one other person asking the same question without answer.

"Under 8500 lb GVW" is a reference to the FAKE 1997 F-250, the one they called the "F-250 Light Duty". Should have been called an F-200. Based on the re-designed 1997 F-150. Completely different generation from the OBS.
Starting with these models in '97, and with the '99 SuperDuty series, Ford abandoned the dual tank option and went to larger single tanks in all models. Some people have managed to fit these larger tanks under their OBS trucks as a high-capacity mod, but it's by no means a direct bolt-up.

So this would essentially be the same as replacing the OBS mid tank with a SD tank (which I've seen some guys do).
Good info
That being said, I think part of the confusion is that this tank comes up on Rockauto's site as fitting for the 1997 F350. Had I spotted it as being for only 97 F250 I would (hopefully) have picked up on it.
