Converting 86 302 efi to carb

I am putting in a 302 out of a 86 f150
Into my 87 f150 that had a 351w ho with a 4bbl from the factory the 351w is in rough shape and I got a good deal on the 302. I figure the things I need will be

Intake manifold
Carb
Possible distributor
Electric fuel pump

Few questions since I have the 351 torn down would it be worth it to put the HO 351 cam in the 302 use the 351 firing order then I can also use the 351 timing cover and keep the mechanical fuel pump I want to use an aftermarket intake and a 600cfm carb and maybe some long tube headers figure the 351 cam will be a inexpensive way to gain a few horses ? If you guys have any input let me know thanks

You'll likely lose power with carbed setup. You could just the correct ecu for the 5.0, change a bit of the wiring to match, and have a better running truck. The fuel injectors are run from just two wires from the ecu+a switched hot. It'd be easy to run the fuel pumps as well.

You could use the 4180 carb you already have.
If the 302 has a blank off plate on the timing case you could use your fuel pump too.(without swapping cams, all you need is the eccentric)
A short shaft DSII distributor and 4V intake would be applications for 1985 Mustang 5.0 HO.

What I'm saying is that if the 'new' engine is running well, do as little to it as possible.

I would not put a cam from a wore out engine into a good engine.
