Well, damn!
To bring everyone up to speed, Mom (in Southern California) was admitted to the hospital from the ER shortly after midnight Thanksgiving morning. Her colon cancer had spread to her stomach and lungs, and has now involved her pancreas. She had a port surgically implanted in her upper-chest to begin Keytruda treatments. She has decided to not have that treatment. Her insulinoma, (blood sugar levels extremely high due to the cancer), is out of control. My sister is with her, as is the doctor. Hospice staff have been contacted to discuss options. I am attempting to figure out how to have funds available to travel to SoCal on Monday or Tuesday. Savings should cover it, but that wipes out the emergency fund. That's what the emergency fund is for, but I had hoped to have more available than I do. Hopefully, it'll be enough.
I've notified everyone related to my educational endeavors, so at least that's covered. I'll deal with whatever options are available to me when I return to Idaho.
I'm scared, angry, frustrated, and am going a million miles per hour in multiple directions. Thanks for allowing me to vent. I'll have my laptop and textbooks with me in case I need to stay occupied, but I'll probably be offline for awhile.
